God meets us in the ordinary

There’s a quiet lie we believe sometimes — that God only shows up in big, holy moments.

In church.

During worship.

In still, peaceful, perfectly quiet rooms.

But most of life doesn’t look like that.

Most days look like coffee cooling on the counter, laundry waiting to be folded, text messages coming in before you’ve fully woken up. They look like routines and responsibilities and doing the same things again tomorrow.

For a long time, I thought faith had to feel dramatic to be real. I thought if I wasn’t having big spiritual moments, I must be missing something.

But then I started noticing God in the ordinary.

In the quiet before the house wakes up.

In a deep breath taken between tasks.

In the comfort of a familiar routine.

God isn’t distant from everyday life — He’s woven into it.

The Bible reminds us that the ordinary is often where God does His most meaningful work. Jesus spent most of His life doing normal things. Walking. Eating. Talking. Resting. Being present.

If you’re in a season that feels repetitive or uneventful, that doesn’t mean God is absent. It might mean He’s closer than you think.

You don’t need to create special moments for God to meet you. He’s already there — in the middle of your routine, your responsibilities, your quiet moments with coffee in hand.

So tomorrow, when your day starts the same way it always does, remember this:

Nothing about your life is too ordinary for God.

He meets us right where we are.

Scripture to Sit With
