Put on Hold

An early alarm.

A to-do list already running through your head.

A sense of purpose before your feet even hit the floor.

And then you look outside.

Snow. Quiet. Stillness.

And suddenly, the plan you had doesn’t fit the day you were given.

I used to think interruptions were always inconveniences — something to push through or fix quickly. But lately, I’m learning that sometimes a pause isn’t a setback. Sometimes it’s protection. Sometimes it’s an invitation.

An invitation to stay where you are.

To stop striving for a minute.

To notice what God might be doing in the quiet.

We don’t always need a lesson or a solution on days like this. Sometimes we just need permission to rest without guilt. To trust that the world doesn’t fall apart when we stop moving for a moment.

So today, my coffee is at home.

The pace is slower.

And the reminder is simple:

God is just as present in the pause as He is in the busy.

If today feels forced to slow down for you too — maybe that’s okay. Maybe that’s enough.
